Shopify is a Canadian e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. It is also the name of its proprietary e-commerce platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems. The company has more than 600,000 merchants using its platform, and $72 billion worth of sales. The platform was launched in 2006.

Shopify offers following resources on its website: Guides, Shopify Academy, Podcasts, Success stories, Encyclopedia, Forums, Free tools, Free stock photos, Websites for sale, App store, Theme store, Hardware store, Experts, “Need products to sell?”, Help Center.

Shopify also offers unlimited products and no transaction fees, but they limit number of staff accounts to 5 in their “midrange” plan for growing business at the price of USD79 per month. Shopify does not offer marketing support but makes available plenty of free tutorials on the matter.
